The Star-Spangled Banner

Ayer se celebró en Washington, a los pies del Capitolio, la ceremonia de investidura del segundo mandato de Barak Obama como Presidente de los Estados Unidos de América para el período 2013-2017.

Ante más de 800.000 asistentes al acto se celebró la fiesta, que culminó con la interpretación por la cantante Beyoncé del Himno Nacional de los Estados Unidos, The Star-Spangled Banner, acompañada por la Banda de Marines.

Beyoncé, con un larga melena rubia, lució esplendida. Ataviada con un abrigo de Christian Dior que le favorecía mucho, y el complemento de unos pendientes en forma de flor y un anillo en el dedo anular, ambos de color verde esmeralda.

Es admirable el enorme respeto que los ciudadanos sienten por sus símbolos, la bandera, el himno nacional, las ceremonias oficiales, que conforman la historia de la nación y la convierten en un gran pais. Al verlo siento una gran alegría por ellos y enorme tristeza por España y por nosotros. ¿Como explicar que una parte de los ciudadanos sienta un inmenso odio por su propia pais?. ¿Quienes son los resposables de atizar esa situación? ¿Porque se ha consentido? ... Tal vez demasiadas preguntas.

La canción The Star-spangled Banner fue reconocida como Himno Nacional por una resolución del Congreso en el año 1931, aunque ya había sido adoptado antes por la marina y el ejercito. Su letra fue escrita por el poeta Francis Scott Key en 1814, que la escribio como homenaje a la resistencia del Fuerte McHenry al bombardeo de la naves británicas en la bahía de Chesapeake el 13 de septiembre de 1814.

Beyoncé interpretó el Himno de forma magistral, y para comprobarlo nada mejor que el video de Youtube con su actuación.

Aunque lo habitual es cantar la primera estrofa, publico la letra completa de la canción.
