Un nuevo grupo apareció, no ha mucho tiempo, en los escenarios, se trata de Pistol Annies un grupo femenino norteamericano de música country formado por Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe, and Angaleena Presley. El grupo debutó actuando en un programa de TV de la CBS en abril de 2011, se trataba de un especial de la Academy of Country Music's Girls' titulado Night Out: Superstar Women of Country. El trio publicó su primer album Hell on Heels el 23 de agosto de 2011 por Columbia Records Nashville. También se publicó el video y el single de la canción que da título al album.
Las componentes de Pistol Annies utilizan los siguiente apodos Lonestar Annie (Lambert), Hippie Annie (Monroe), y Holler Annie (Presley). Después de una serie de actuaciones en los conciertos de Miranda Lambert, Pistol Annies intervinieron en diciembre de 2011 invitadas en tres actuaciones por John Fogerty and Blake Shelton.

El año 2012 el trio interpretó la canción titulada Come All Ye Fair and Tender Ladies en el album Voice of Ages de The Chieftains. Pistol Annies cantaron Run Daddy Run en el album The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12 and Beyond. Tambien interpretaron un single autobiogáfico Takin' Pills en el 2012 en los CMT Music Awards.
El 7 de mayo de 2013 su nueva discográfica, RCA Records Nashville, ha publicado su segundo album de estudio, Annie Up. Previamente habían lanzado el single Hush Hush que supuso su primera entrada en el U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. También intervinieron en el single de Blake Shelton, Boys Round Here de su album del 2013, Based on a True Story
Corta pero brillante carrera, pues recientemente, a primeros de junio de 2013 el grupo ha cancelado repentinamente todas su actuaciones para el mes de junio. Según la información facilitada por la compañía discográfica :"Se debe a circunstancias imprevistas ...." . Sin embargo Miranda Lambert ha continuado actuando en solitario durante ese mismo mes. ???
Deseamos que las posibles desavencias, si es que existen, y Miranda Lambert lo permite, se solucionen para que podamos seguir escuchando a este grupo al que se auguraban grandes éxitos.
