Missing You

Recientemente ha salido al mercado un album de éxitos de John Waite, con el título de Best, que contiene 18 temas. La ultima canción es la famosísima Missing You, que pertenece por derecho propio a mi colección de favoritas. En este caso la versión incluida es el dueto que grabó con Alison Krauss en el año 2007

Missing You es el título de un canción grabada y coescrita por el músico britanico John Waite. Fue publicada en junio de 1984 como primer single del album No Brakes y alcanzó el número 1 en el Billboard Hot 100 durante la semana del 22 de septiembre de 1984, y novena en la UK Singles Chart.

Mas tarde John Waite regrabó la canción en un dueto con la cantante norteamericana de country y bluegrass Alison Krauss, que la publicó en su album  A Hundred Miles or More: A Collection. La grabación original apareció en las películas Selena (1997) y Warm Bodies (2013), en la serie de TV Miami Vice en el episodio Heart of Darkness, emitido en  Septiembre de 1084, y en 2013 salió en un escena de la comedia Rules of Engagement, episodio A Wee Problem, emitido en mayo de 2013, y hasta en un videojuego.

Parece ser que la canción estaba dedicada a Nina Blackwood que lo publicó en su libro VJ: The Unplugged Adventures of MTV's First Wave lo que le confirmó John Waite después de la publicación.
