Desert Rose

Poca presentación necesita Sting, hoy afincado en la Toscana, y uno de mis músicos preferidos, asi que solo unos datos biográficos. Gordon Matthew Thomas Summer, conocido por su nombre artístico Sting, nació el 2 de octubre de 1951 en Wallsend, Tynesidedel Norte, en el Reino Unido. Este britanico, es músico, cantautor multi-instumentalista. activista, actor y filántropo. Comenzó su carrera como bajista y mas tarde vocalista y bajista del grupo The Police, con los que ha vendido más de cien millones de discos,. ha recibido dieciseis premios Grammy, e incluso ha sido nominado a los Oscar a la mejor canción. Su creatividad es impresionante, y ha creado canciones bellisimas, entre las que, para mi,  destaca Fragil.

Hoy presento un videoclip de Youtube de la canción Desert Rose incluida en el album Brand New Day que se publicó en el año 1999. La canción ocupó lugares importantes en las listas de varios paises y fue editada como single con varias versiones remixed de Victor Calderone. Otra version remix de la canción se usó en un video alternativo que incluía sexualidad explicita. (Wikipedia)

En la interpretación le acompaña el famoso cantante de räi argelino Cheb Mami. En el videoclip oficial aparece Sting realizando un viaje a través el desierto de Mohave a bordo de un Jaguar  Tipo-S, y luego está en un discoteca de Las Vegas cantando junto a Cheb Mami. El manager de Sting,  Miles Copeland III llegó a un acuerdo de colaboración con la casa Jaguar y la compañia promocionó el video con anuncios por televisión durante el año 2000. Las letras de la canción está inspirada en la novela de Frank Herbert, Dune,del que Sting es un fan.
