En la lista German Top40 de la página Top40-Charts.com, de esta semana, se encuentra en el segundo puesto la canción When The Beat Drops Out del cantante Marlon Roudette. Esta canción lleva ya cinco semanas en la lista y llegó a la primera posicion hace tres semanas.
Hasta hoy no había podido escuchar ninguna canción suya, ni conocía su existencia, pues es poco conocido en España, siendo Alemania, Austria y Suiza los paises en los que ha conseguido más audiencia, y ello a pesar de su origen británico.
Marlon Roudette nació en Londres el 5 de enero de 1983, hijo de Cameron McVey, un productor de música británica y de Vonnie Roudette, diseñadora y artista de San Vicente y las Granadinas. Con siete años de edad se trasladó con su madre a San Vincente, donde comenzó su carrera musical y volvió a Londres a los 17 años. Roudette es el hijastro de Neneh Cherry, la nueva esposa de su padre, y tiene doble nacionalidad, la británica, y la de San Vicente y las Granadinas
Fue muy influenciado por el reggae de las islas, que escuchaba en San Vicente, Su carrera en Londres, comenzó con la banda Mattafix, con la que grabó algun album. En el año 2011 publicó en septiembre de 2011 su album de debut en solitario, Matter Fixed. Previamente en julio de 2011 había publicado el single New Age con el que consiguió éxito internacional que le situó como número uno en las listas de los países germanoparlantes Austria, Suiza y Alemania, y supuso para él un salto a la fama.
Este año 2014, ha publicado su segundo album, Electric Soul al que pertence la canción When The Beat Drops Out, que tambien salió previamenbte como single y está obteniendo un gran éxito. Su estilo ha sido calificado como blues del siglo XXI. que se sale de lo habitual hoy dia, todo electrónico. Como ejemplo se puede ver el videoclip de la canción New Age, de su primer album, que podrá seleccionarse al final del videoclip que hoy publico.
