Damien Rice acaba de publicar su tercer album, que lleva por título My Favourite Faded Fantasy. Él nació el 7 de diciembre de 1973 en Celbridge, County Kildare, Irlanda. Se trata de un cantante y compositor irlandés, cuyo estilo puede englobarse en el folk amplio, muy cerca de un pop-rock altenativo y por supuesto indie.
En sus comienzos fue el cantante del grupo Juniper, una banda de rock que llegó a publicar dos singles The World Is Dead y Weatherman. Se separó del grupo en el año 1999 al no estar de acuedo con el enfoque comercial del primer album que iban a grabar, por presiones de la discográfica Polygram. Damien se trasladó a Italia, donde tocó la guitarra acústica, escribió canciones y recorrió Europa hasta regresar a Dublín, donde formó un grupo, tocando en pequeños conciertos en cafeterías. Su primo, David Arnold, le ayudo a grabar su primer album, O, con el que ganó varios premios. En el grupo estaban tambien, Lisa Hannigan, como cantante, guitarra y bajo; Vyvienne Long, que tocaba el cello; el bateria Tom Osander; y el bajista Shane Fitzsimons. Damien estuvo en esa época relacionado sentimentalmente con Lisa Hannigan. Su relación duró hasta el año 2007.
Este nuevo album es el tercero que publica, poca produción para un período de 12 años. Su discografia es la siguiente,

No obstabte ha publicado varios singles, muchos de ellos han sido utilizados en películas y series televisivas. The Blower's Daughter y Cold Water fueron parte de la música en la película Closer, dirigida en 2004 por Mike Nichols. Esta última también fue parte de la serie de televisión estadounidense ER, y de las películas La chica del café, I Am David y Pequeñas Mentiras sin Importancia. El tema Delicate formó parte de la película Querido Frankie y de las series de televisión Perdidos, House, Alias, CSI: Miami y Misfits y la canción Cannonball fue parte de la película In good company - Algo más que un jefe, y en series como The L word y The O.C. También aparece en la película francesa Pequeñas Mentiras sin Importancia. Es indudable que su música tiene un gran atractivo
Damien Rice ganó el premio estadounidense Short List Prize y fue nominado para un Award Brit por su primer disco. En 2007, tras la publicación de su segundo álbum, fue nominado a los Brit Awards como mejor artista internacional, junto a Justin Timberlake, Beck, Bob Dylan y Jack Johnson
Para presentar el album he seleccionado la canción It Takes a Lot To Know a Man, que es una de las que más me gustan del nuevo disco. Se trata de un video de YouTube que contiene el audio, pues todavia no hay videoclips oficiales de ninguna de las canciones.
